To celebrate Co-Production Week 5th – 9th July 2021, we asked everyone to share their examples of Co-Production. Minds Matter Tameside & Glossop (part of the Big Life Group) shared the following story.
Minds Matter have recently reviewed and co-produced a new service leaflet in partnership with people who access support from the service. The new step 1 offer leaflet simply captures information that is most important to the people who use Minds Matter. The leaflet includes a clear, free, service offer enabling people to make informed choices about the support that may be right for them.
The co-design of this leaflet sparked further conversations leading to co-production in other areas of the Minds Matter offer such as the - Living Well with Diabetes course. The content of this course was co-produced with experts by experience (people living with or caring for someone with diabetes) and experts by profession (people working or linked to work in the area of diabetes and long term conditions). Partners included Minds Matter, Healthy Minds, Be Well, Social Prescribers (Action Together), Live Active, The High Risk Foot Team, Diabetic Specialist Nurses, the Health & Wellbeing College and the Long Term Conditions Commissioning Project Manager. As the co-produced courses were swiftly adapted online in response to Covid-19 Minds Matter also worked closely with the Digital Wellbeing Project (PCRefurb) to remove any barriers to digital inclusion.
