Miles of Smiles is a community transport scheme led by Action Together. They have a team of volunteer drivers who take people in Tameside to health and wellbeing appointments. The aim of the scheme is to try and reduce the number of appointments that are cancelled due to people not having transport.
The scheme is available to anyone who, due to illness, age or disability, is unable to use public transport such as buses or trains to get to their appointment and do not have their own transport.
The community transport scheme are always looking for new volunteer drivers so that they can help more people.
Miles of Smiles needs more volunteer drivers, if you can drive and want to do something that makes a difference to people in Tameside, please get in touch!
